losing sight

Installation work

An installation exploring the emotional and sensory experience of vision loss, inspired by my father’s predicted condition and the fragile nature of memory.

In Losing Sight, two screens display blurred imagery that gradually sharpens, echoing the uncertainty and fear of forgetting the familiar—especially the facial features of a loved one. Muffled voice messages from my father play through spatial audio, creating a distant, intimate soundscape. The cold, dimly lit space was designed to disorient the senses. The setting narrowed the viewer’s visual and physical comfort,
heightening awareness of absence and disconnection.

The installation creates space for quiet reflection on personal loss, memory, and the gradual fading of what we once held clearly.inhabit the liminal space of reflection and suspended time.
