Performed storytelling work

A spoken word and video performance exploring longing, displacement, and shared memory through personal reflections on the sea.An immersive installation exploring the emotional and psychological experience of delayed life syndrome” the feeling of being suspended in time and caught between past and future, through layered video projections and spatialized sound.
In It Takes Us All in the End (Memories of the Sea), I interviewed friends from different backgrounds who had left home or immigrated, weaving their memories of the sea into one narrative. Their voices were paired with slow-motion video of the Syrian Corniche and a soundscape of waves and children playing, creating an immersive atmosphere of home and distance. The screen acted as a vessel for collective memory, connecting individual stories across borders.
The piece was performed during a Palestine and Lebanon fundraiser at ACU Utrecht in December 2024 https://acu.nl/events/20241220/palestina-fundraiser
